Back to the roots.

Fuck the system.

All right. Been a long long time but I'm still around and kicking. And this time is gonna be a first, since I'm gonna take the old folk's side. I guess I'm old enough to do that. And the urgency of the matter allows me anyway, so here go my concerns.

We are raising a generation of consumist idiots.

Somehow we built a world where the youth are systematically mislead into believing that stupidity is endearing, promiscuity is popularity and different is dangerous. We taught them that the meaning of freedom is being free to consume manufactured goods that enhance an artificially constructed self-image. We step back and let MTV and Wal-Mart and Myspace provide a background for tomorrow's voters. Corporation-centric society has led to a hive-mind culture where the industrious, single-track lifestyle of a large bee is praisable.

You see, in a capitalist system money is god, and we humans are reduced to mere units of consuption. The one way you can interact with the world around you is consuption, and every relationship becomes a transaction. And this is so deeply nested in our colective mindset that we value a person's success in terms of their productivity. Production precedes consuption.

But lo, there is an alternative. FUCK THE SYSTEM.

Fuck the system is not a warcry to take lightly. Fuck the system means rejecting the idea that wealth changes a person's worth. Treat everyone with the same respect, consideration and love. Yes, love. Fuck the system means that working 14 hour shifts is unfair and wrong, and a system that forces people to do so is plain evil. Fuck the system means that you don't really need fancy clothes, you don't really need a gold watch, or a cellphone that makes waffles.

You don't really need rubber tits and bleached hair.

Fuck.
The.
System.
