Nice & Easy

Mother Nature, in Her infinite wisdom, saw fit to make manhood essentially dumb-proof. There are few secrets on being a man. There are more tips really. Being a man, I will share some advise that may prove handy sometime.

Some advise on shaving.

I you, like me, happen to be bless/cursed with a thick manly beard, you probably agree that it can prove cumbersome to keep it reasonably vermin-free and trim. Shaving is about as easy as brushing your teeth, once you get the kick of it. I grew a yucky beard when I was about 14 and it made me look like a hobo-racoon. So, following a tradition of millenia, my fathar showed me how to get rid of it for a good 24 hours.

Now, unless you are 13 or outright stupid, you don't cut yourself too much by now. I been shaving for about a decade so I have seen my share of blood-stained foam.

If you get cut often, you need a sharper blade. You get cut when you apply too much preassure, and you do that to compensate the fact that your razor is not getting the job done.

Now, you can get a Hatori Hanzo-sharp razor and still do a shitty job if it gets clogged with beard and foam. If you live in the 21st Century, odds are you use a semi disposable razor, with two (I recomend three) paralel blades, with about a millimeter between them. You need hot water to unclogg that space. How hot? As hot as you can get it.

As in many other things, the importance of lubrication cannot be overstressed. Foam, gel or soap will do the trick.

Thats pretty much it. There is plenty of folk's lore on wether you should shave up or down. Do it anyway that does not leave your skin irritated. Aftershave? Skip it.

A barber's blade will give you the best shave, but you need to know how to use or there will be beheadings. Those things are ridiculously sharp.
